ZagrosJet's shareholders remain at loggerheads over three years after their initial falling out.

Based out of Erbil in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, the carrier is a 49/51 joint-venture between Turkey's AtlasGlobal and the Barzani family's Zagros Group . It began operations in 2013 using A320 Family jets. However, the relationship soured in late 2014 with the Turkish partner seizing one of ZagrosJet's A321-200s at Istanbul Atatürk citing non-payment of debts.

According to Forbes, AtlasGlobal’s Chief Commercial Officer, Nevzat Arşan, said in an interview that the two parties had now been locked in a legal battle for over a year.

"We don’t have any operational and management touch," he said. "We are completely disconnected, and we are in the court at the moment."

ZagrosJet suspended flight operations in December last year after the central Iraqi government closed Kurdish airspace to all international flights following the region's pro-independence referendum. Although the moratorium was lifted earlier this year, ZagrosJet has yet to resume flights.
