Aruba Airlines (AG, Aruba) will launch a new route to Riohacha on August 23, 2019, ch-aviation schedule analysis has revealed. It will be the first international service for the northern Colombian airport.

Flights will operate 3x weekly using a CRJ200 wet-leased from Voyageur Airways (VAL, North Bay).

According to the ch-aviation schedules module, thus far Riohacha has been served by avianca airlines (AV, Bogotá) and Viva Air Colombia (Medellín José Maria Córdova) from Bogotá only.

Riohacha will also become Aruba Airlines' maiden Colombian destination. In the South American mainland, the carrier currently exclusively serves Georgetown Cheddi Jagan in Guyana.
