Aegean Airlines (A3, Athens) has, in the last few days, moved forward its planned A321-200neo operation to January 2020, rather than late March 2020. While this represents the first schedule change for the type, additional changes remain likely at this early stage of the aircraft's induction into the fleet.

For the W19/20 season, the A321neo is expected to operate the following services from the airline's base in Athens:

  • from January 19, 2020 the daily flights A3608 and A3609 to London Heathrow;
  • from January 21, 2020 the 3x weekly sector to London Gatwick on flights A3608/A3609, and;
  • from March 1, 2020 the 12x weekly Munich route operated on flights A3802/A3803 and A3806/A3807.

Aegean operates 11 more weekly flights to Heathrow, and these will remain as A321-200 flights, as per the airline's existing schedule. In Munich, the airline's Athens service will be switching from an A320-200 operation, while at Gatwick the A321neo will be replacing the current A321 flights.

According to the ch-aviation fleets module, Aegean has ten A321neo on order with the European airframer.
