MAI - Myanmar Airways International (8M, Yangon) will add two E190s and enter the Myanmarese domestic market starting in July 2020, Chief Operating Officer Kyaw Han told English-language news website Eleven.

The carrier's domestic services will supplement flights operated by sister carrier Air KBZ (Yangon).

Currently, MAI exclusively flies internationally, serving destinations in China, India, Seoul Incheon, Bangkok Suvarnabhumi, and Singapore Changi out of Yangon and Mandalay International, the ch-aviation schedules module shows. Meanwhile, Air KBZ only flies domestically within Myanmar.

MAI's fleet includes four A319-100s and one A320-200. The airline also wet-leases a single A319 from GetJet Airlines (GW, Vilnius) for the peak season in South-East Asia. It plans to add two additional A320-200s in 2020.

Air KBZ, for its part, is exclusively a turboprop operator with three ATR72-500s and eight -600s.

The only two Embraer regional jets currently registered in Myanmar are two E190LRs operated by flag carrier Myanmar National Airlines (UB, Yangon), the ch-aviation fleets module shows.
