AirAsia X (D7, Kuala Lumpur International) has started selling tickets for its first route to be resumed following the Covid-19-related temporary closure of all of its scheduled network.

Starting August 1, it will again offer a total of six weekly flights linking its KLIA homebase with Taipei Taoyuan using its fleet of A330-300s. While the low-cost carrier has also loaded schedules for flights to Seoul Incheon and Tokyo Haneda from the same date, it has not actually started selling tickets on either of the routes.

During the month of July, AirAsia X has operated only two A330-300s on sporadic repatriation flights from Kuala Lumpur to Bangkok Don Mueang, Delhi International, Hangzhou, Osaka Kansai, and Taipei Taoyuan, Flightradar24 ADS-B data shows.

At the end of March, AirAsia X announced its intention to suspend "most" of its services until at least May 31. Its sister carrier Thai AirAsia X (XJ, Bangkok Suvarnabhumi) is not currently planning to resume operations until at least September 1.

AirAsia X operates twenty-three A330-300s, the majority of which are currently parked at KLIA. The Thai unit has twelve A330-300s and two A330-900s while Indonesia AirAsia X (IDX, Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta) has two parked A330-300s.
