Wizz Air UK (W9, London Luton) will open a new base at Doncaster/Sheffield airport, its second in the United Kingdom, with the onset of the Winter 2020/21 season.

Parent firm Wizz Air (W6, Budapest) said in a statement its UK subsidiary would deploy a single A320-200 to the Yorkshire airfield from November onwards. This will then allow for the launch of the following new routes:

  • Alicante 3x weekly (starts October 22);
  • Lublin 3x weekly (starts October 22);
  • Malaga 2x weekly (starts October 23);
  • Kosice 2x weekly (starts October 23);
  • Faro 2x weekly (starts October 23);
  • Suceava 2x weekly (starts October 25);
  • Larnaca 2x weekly (starts October 25).

At present, Wizz Air connects Doncaster/Sheffield with Bucharest Henri Coanda, Cluj-Napoca, and Timisoara in Romania; Debrecen in Hungary; Gdansk, Katowice Pyrzowice, Kraków John Paul II International, Poznan Lawica, and Warsaw Chopin in Poland; Riga in Latvia; and Vilnius in Lithuania. Wizz Air UK's main base is at London Luton.
