Emirates (EK, Dubai International) president Tim Clark has told journalists at a press conference in Washington that Emirates and American Airlines (AA, Dallas/Fort Worth) would have started talks about a potential cooperation on routes between Dubai and the United States. Emirates had recently announced a joint venture with AA's Oneworld partner Qantas (QF, Sydney Kingsford Smith) for Australia-Middle East-Europe services. American does not currently serve Dubai or any other destinations in the Middle East or Asia with the exception of destinations in China and Japan. Emirates currently operates from Dubai to Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston Intercontinental, Los Angeles International, New York JFK, San Francisco, Seattle Tacoma International and Washington Dulles.
