Icelandair (FI, Reykjavik Keflavik) is expected to place an order for either the A320neo or B737MAX aircraft families with Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) or Boeing (BOE, Washington National) either later this or early next year according to a report by Icelandic newspaper Vidskiptabladid. While it has previously operated B737-400s, Icelandair currently only operates 13 B757-200s and a single B757-300 on its own scheduled passenger flights. The order reportedly will be for 12-16 of the new generation narrowbody aircraft.
