Sun PhuQuoc Airways (9G, Hanoi Noi Bai International) has taken delivery of its first two A321-200s as it works towards the launch with eight narrowbody aircraft scheduled for November 8, 2025.
2-FWCA (msn 8577) and 2-FWCB (msn 8592) were ferried from Shannon via Hurghada, Dubai World Central, and Ahmedabad to Hanoi Noi Bai International over the course of August 16-19, 2025. Both are aircraft are of 2018 vintage and powered by CFM International CFM56-5B3/P engines. They are owned by FitzWalter Capital Aviation Services and were previously dry-leased to VietJetAir, becoming the subject of a gruelling legal battle between the lessor and the airline once VietJetAir defaulted on the leases in 2021.
The two aircraft join an A321-200NX, which Sun Phu Quoc Airlines took in early August 2025.
The start-up, backed by hospitality and real estate holding Sun Group, aims to begin selling tickets in October 2025 and launch a month later. It has yet to disclose the details of its planned network, but it aims to primarily focus on growing traffic to Phu Quoc, where Sun Group owns hotels and real estate.
