AirAsia Zest (Manila Ninoy Aquino International) has chosen Cebu to be its second major hub, adding to its primary hub in Manila Ninoy Aquino International. According to AirlineRoute, effective November 15, AirAsia Zest will offer Cebu to Cagayan de Oro Laguindingan, Davao and Puerto Princesa while from December 1, flights to Kuala Lumpur International will commence. In a press briefing on October 11, AirAsia Zest executive vice president and chief operating officer Joy Caneba revealed the decision to invest in Cebu airport, currently the 2nd busiest airport in the country and the main gateway to the Visayas region. Ms Caneba also alluded to the delivery of three A320s in 2014, set to supplement the airline's current fleet of eleven A320-200s and a single A319-100, which will be used to boost growth. The airline's official unveiling is set for October 21.
