Philippines AirAsia (Z2, Manila Ninoy Aquino International) is set to reopen its base in Cebu with seven new routes beginning mid-November 2025, according to ch-aviation schedules data.

The low-cost airline is set to operate flights on the following domestic routes from Cebu:

  • Caticlan, 2x daily beginning November 15, 2025
  • Davao, 2x daily beginning November 15, 2025
  • Iloilo, 4x weekly beginning November 16, 2025
  • Puerto Princesa, 3x weekly beginning November 15, 2025

Philippines AirAsia has also filed for flights to three international destinations:

Flights on these routes will be operated by Philippines AirAsia's A320-200 fleet, configured with 180 seats in an all-economy configuration. ch-aviation data shows the airline operating 25 aircraft of the type, 13 of which are currently stored.

Out of Cebu, the low-cost carrier presently only operates flights to Manila Ninoy Aquino International, where it flies 46x weekly. Philippines AirAsia previously had an extensive domestic and international network from Cebu, but flights were gradually terminated in 2024.
