Air Caraibes (TX, Pointe à Pitre) is set to place a firm order with Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) for three A350-1000s for subsidiary Air Caraibes Atlantique (CAJ, Paris Orly) worth USD1billion. In an interview with LesEchos, chairman Marc Rochet revealed that his carrier has also secured a contract with US-based lessor, the International Lease Finance Corporation (ILFC), to lease three A350-900s, the first of which is due in 2018. Air Caraïbes Atlantique's current fleet consists of an A330-200 and three A330-300s used on flights between Paris Orly and Fort de France, Pointe à Pitre, Cayenne, Port au Prince, Santo Domingo Las Américas and St. Maarten.
