Etihad Airways (EY, Abu Dhabi International) is to begin a new daily A330-200 service from Abu Dhabi International to Phuket effective October 26. The route will replace an existing service operated by Etihad partner, Air Berlin (1991) (Berlin Tegel).

Airliners.de speculates that Air Berlin will use its freed-up A330 to boost its Berlin Tegel to Abu Dhabi flights as well as its Düsseldorf and Munich services to the Caribbean.
