Blue Islands (SI, Jersey) has announced it will indefinitely suspend its Jersey to Southampton service following the sale of its last two Jetstream 32s. The turboprops' final flight is scheduled for November 16.
“Whilst it is with great regret that we need to suspend our Jetstream Southampton service, it is key to our sustained business success that we migrate to a single ATR fleet type... We are currently reviewing next year’s ATR fleet activity and aircraft availability which could well see us return the Southampton service next summer," Rob Veron, Blue Islands Managing Director, told Business Life magazine.
The airline will continue to operate a fleet of three ATR42-300s, one ATR42-500, and one ATR72-500 on flights to the United Kingdom, France, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and Guernsey.
