Ithaca Tompkins Regional Airport in central New York state has announced it will close to all commercial traffic for the period Friday, July 8 to Saturday, July 23, 2016 on account of runway resurfacing works.

While the closure will not affected helicopter traffic, commercial fixed-wing operators that use the airfield and which are affected include: Piedmont Airlines (for American Airlines), SkyWest Airlines (for Delta Air Lines), and CommutAir (for United Airlines).

Ithaca Tompkins serves as the main aviation gateway to Cornell University, Ithaca College and Finger Lakes.
