Air Milford (Queenstown International) is planning to venture into the scheduled passenger services market with the launch of regular flights between Te Anau and Queenstown International slated for early next year.

Quoting airline operations manager Antony Sproull, the 3rd Level flight blog reports a trial service will begin on Saturday, January 14, 2017 and will run every Saturday for twelve weeks through the peak tourist season.

"The tourism scene has never been busier in Queenstown or Te Anau. If Mount Cook Airline (Christchurch) could justify 44-seat aircraft, then we should have no trouble filling our four-to-12 seat machines," he said.

Founded in 1993, Air Milford is a family-owned enterprise and operates a fleet of five aircraft including three Cessna (single turboprop) Grand Caravan 208Bs and as well as a Cessna (single piston) 185 and 206. It offers personalised sightseeing excursions around the Queenstown and Milford Sound region as well as charter flights to New Zealand’s Fiordland and Southern Alps.
