United Airlines (UA, Chicago O'Hare) has notified the US Department of Transportation (DOT) of its intention to return all three weekly frequency allocations for the Guam International-Shanghai Pudong route effective April 1, 2018. According to the ch-aviation schedules module, United currently offers two weekly roundtrips between Guam and Shanghai using B737-800 equipment. This, however, is due to end on March 22.

The carrier was granted a third frequency on the route in August 2016 but never launched the additional flight. United filings to the DOT show it has failed to obtain slots at Shanghai Pudong which would allow it to operate the route on all three days with a broadly similar schedule.

United is currently the only carrier offering direct scheduled services between Guam and mainland China. It also operates a 4x weekly service out of the US Territory to Hong Kong International.
