Sunwing Airlines (WG, Toronto Pearson) has taken delivery of C-FMXA (msn 43297), its first of four such aircraft to be leased from Air Lease Corporation. According to Flightradar24 ADS-B data, the Boeing (BOE, Washington National) twinjet has already been deployed into service on flights between Toronto Pearson and Punta Cana.

The second of the quartet, C-GMXB (msn 60387), will be delivered later this week. The remaining pair will arrive in 2019.

“The 737 MAX 8 aircraft is an integral part of Sunwing’s overall expansion plans across an increasing number of both Canadian and U.S. gateways and illustrates the evolution of the company,” Mark Williams, President of Sunwing Airlines, said in a statement.

Sunwing operates a fleet of nineteen B737-800s on flights connecting various cities across Canada with over 45 sun destinations in the southern United States, the Caribbean, and Central America.
