Fly540 (FFV, Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta) owner Lonrho has taken a 3,2% stake in Rubicon Diversified Investments and has entered into talks with Rubicon about potentially using Fly540 as the base for the new African low-cost carrier planned by Rubicon and easyJet (London Luton) founder Stelios. Fly540 would then be rebranded as Fastjet (Dar es Salaam) and its fleet renewed. Fly540 currently has operations in Angola, Ghana, Tanzania and Uganda besides its main operation in Kenya.
