Lufthansa (LH, Frankfurt International) says it will suspend service to three Russian cities later this summer citing the country's prevailing economic hardships. In a statement, the German carrier said flights to Moscow Vnukovo would end effective August 31 followed by Samara Kurumoch and Nizhny Novgorod Strigino on September 6 and 7 respectively.
A resumption of services to these cities will be reconsidered if and when economic conditions improve.
