bmibaby (Nottingham East Midlands) has lost a lawsuit in a UK court that could force the low-cost carrier to pay up to 14.5 million EUR in damages to Durham Tees Valley airport for breaking an agreement with the airport when the carrier closed its base there in 2006. bmibaby is resuming service to Germany this fall: Cardiff-Munich: 4x weekly B737-300 service resuming on October 31 East Midlands-Cologne/Bonn: 6x weekly B737-300/-500 service starting on October 31 East Midlands-Munich: 3x weekly B737-300 service resuming on September 17 bmibaby has given up its Birmingham-Barcelona route on June 7, its Bournemouth-Jersey route on June 28 and has not launched its previously announced East Midlands-Bastia seasonal route.
