Lufthansa (LH, Frankfurt International) has officially ended B737-500 operations following the departure of its last remaining airframe of the type, D-ABIW (msn 24945), for new owner, Automatic Leasing, on Tuesday, March 22. Skyliner Aviation indicates the twinjet was ferried to Orlando Sanford from Berlin Schönefeld via Reykjavik Keflavik and Bangor.

At present, the German operator continues to employ the B737 Classic type in the form of seven B737-300s.
