FitsAir (8D, Colombo International) has placed a firm order with Aeronautical Engineers for the conversion of two MD-82s into freighters. The first of the two ex-Alitalia (AZA, Rome Fiumicino) aircraft (msn 53217) will shortly be converted for FITS at Miami International. FITS plans to replace its DC-8-61F freighter by the MD-82(SF)s according to Cargo Facts.
