Royal Jordanian (RJ, Amman Queen Alia) will finalize its narrowbody fleeting decision during the second half of the year, chief executive Stefan Pichler has told The National.

In an interview, Pichler said the carrier was in talks with Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier Aerospace, and Embraer over the addition of up to 23 narrow-body aircraft.

Of the aircraft, four will be acquired outright with the remainder, which will replace its current fleet of four A319-100s, seven A320-200s, two A321-200s, three E175s, and two E195s, to be leased.

“We will make a decision on which supplier to go with by the end of September this year,” he said.

The aircraft will be used to bolster Royal Jordanian's shorthaul network spanning the Middle East, Europe, and North Africa.
