China United Airlines (KN, Beijing Daxing International) will merge with the Shijiazhuang based Hebei division of its parent China Eastern Airlines (MU, Shanghai Hongqiao) later this year according to a report by Air Transport World. China Eastern currently has four B737-700s based at Shijiazhuang and operates approximately 20 daily flights from there. China United currently operates two A319-100s, two B737-700s and nine B737-800s on scheduled flights from Beijing Nanyuan. It also still operates Tu-154Ms, An-26s and An-24s on behalf of the Chinese military that used to own the carrier until 2005.
