Iceland Express (Reykjavik Keflavik) has announced plans to resume services to the United States in summer 2013 annnouncing Boston as its first destination. The virtual low-cost carrier currently uses A320-200s from Holidays Czech Airlines (Prague Václav Havel) for its its services from Iceland to Europe. It had previously served Boston, Chicago O'Hare and Winnipeg International in North America until summer 2011 but had been forced to stop its flights there after the bankruptcy of sister carrier and previous wet-lease operator Astraeus (London Gatwick).
