The Portuguese Air Force (Força Aérea Portuguesa) has inducted a Falcon 900B to support VIP and medical evacuation missions.
The 31.1-year-old Dassault Aviation aircraft, 27404 (msn 135), arrived at Lisbon on May 23 from Geneva, following acceptance flights between Switzerland and Beja the previous day.
The trijet had been parked at Geneva since May 22, 2023, undergoing maintenance with Dassault Aviation Business Services under three contracts totalling up to EUR3.07 million euros (USD3.45 million). The work addressed multiple findings, including structural airframe repairs and modifications to the central wing tank.
Now assigned to Squadron 504 (Esquadra 504 Linces), the aircraft will be used by the Portuguese Air Force for the transportation of state officials, medical evacuations, and organ transport missions. The squadron currently operates two Falcon 50s, averaging 34.6 years old, following the 2022 retirement and scrapping of a third unit at Cascais.
The Falcon 900B was delivered to the air force in early 2023 after being transferred to the Portuguese state to settle debts owed by the jet's former owner, OMNI Aviação (OAV, Cascais), to Parvalorem, a state-owned entity established to manage non-performing assets of Banco Português de Negócios (BPN), nationalised in 2008.
In February 2021, the aircraft, then registered as CS-DTP, was seized by Brazilian authorities at Salvador International ahead of a planned departure to Cascais, after half a ton of cocaine was found on board.
