The director of parts supplier AOG Technics, Jose Alejandro Zamora Yrala, pleaded guilty at Southwark Crown Court to defrauding customers by falsifying documentation that related to the origin and status of CFM International CFM56 engine parts. The UK Serious Fraud Office launched an investigation into the company in 2023, after the UK Civil Aviation Authority, the US Federal Aviation Administration, and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency issued safety alerts concerning the fraudulent parts. Sentencing has been scheduled for February 23, 2026. Zamora Yrala, who faces up to 10 years in a UK prison, remains under investigation in Portugal.
