FedEx Express, Challenge Group, Atlas Air, Teleport, and AeroLogic will commence freighter operations at the new Mumbai D. B. Patil (Navi Mumbai) by May 2026. This transition precedes a nine-month suspension of dedicated cargo flights at Mumbai International from August 2026 to accommodate airside upgrades.

Separately, FedEx Express and operator Adani Airport Holdings Ltd. broke ground on an exclusive INR25 billion rupee (USD274.9 million) cargo hub at Navi Mumbai. Scheduled for completion in 2028, the 27,870-square-metre facility will serve as a regional consolidation centre.
