Western Global Airlines (KD, Fort Myers Southwest Florida) has applied to the US Department of Transportation for permission to begin domestic and foreign operations. Established by a former Southern Air (Cincinnati International) founder and CEO, James K. Neff, the company plans to launch with a single MD-11F, growing to 4 by the end of its first operational year. Overall, commencing late 2013, it plans to provide widebody cargo capacity and to offer ACMI services to clients using MD-11 aircraft.
