LAM - Linhas Aéreas de Moçambique (TM, Maputo) is planning to acquire one E190 and either three B737-700s or A319-100s as part of its second phase of fleet modernization and enlargement. The airline's subsidiary MEX - Mocambique Expresso (MXE, Maputo) recently announced the completion of phase one of its project following the arrival of two E145s in February. LAM CEO, Marlene Manave, has stated that her airline's long term goal is to cover all capitals in the Southern African Development Community by 2017. Combined, LAM and MEX's fleet consists of one B737-500, one Jetstream 41, three DHC-8-400s, three E190s, two E120s and two E145s.
