Aeroflot (SU, Moscow Sheremetyevo) could potentially acquire DHC-8-400s for its nascent subsidiary, Aurora (HZ, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk), should a joint venture between Bombardier Aerospace (BBA, Montréal Trudeau) and Russia's Rostec State Corporation for the manufacture of the turboprop in Russia go ahead. Russian Aviation reports that Aeroflot's CEO, Vitaly Savelyev, made the revelation during an interview with the local media. In addition, Mr Savelyev said his airline would only make a final decision on its B787-8 order next year though this is also dependent on Boeing (BOE, Washington National) resolving the type's growing list of operational problems. "We should not make any premature decisions. It takes time. At present we don’t have the Boeing 787 in our fleet. I can’t say anything bad about it. The information I get is just a starting point. The deadline for taking this decision is 2014."
