JetLink Express (Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta) has applied to the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) for a license to operate some domestic as well as international passenger and cargo flights. The Nation says the inactive airline has applied for scheduled rights to serve Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta, Mombasa, Malindi, Lokichoggio, Maasai Mara Serena, Ukunda, Lamu, Eldoret and Kisumu using a Fokker 28-4000, CRJ100 and CRJ200. Since suspending operations in late 2012 citing difficulties in accessing funds accrued in Juba, JetLink has been locked in bankruptcy proceedings in which it has attempted to persuade its creditors to buy into a share-swap scheme in return for debt relief.
