Cubana (CU, Havana International) has reached an agreement-in-principle with Antonov Design Bureau (Gostomel) for an order of ten additional An-158s. The Cuban national carrier currently operates three of the type on flights from Havana International to Cancún, Caracas Simón Bolivar, Guantánamo, Holguin, Nassau International, Santiago de Cuba and Santo Domingo Las Américas. Antonov's Deputy General Designer, Alexander Keeva told Ukraine's Kommersant newspaper: "We are getting close to signing the agreement with Cubana de Aviacion. At present representatives of Antonov, Ilyushin Finance & Co. (IFC) leasing company and the Cuban carrier are carrying out high-altitude flight tests of An-158 in Ecuador and Bolivia." A firm contract is expected to be signed in due course.
