West Air Sweden (Gothenburg Landvetter) and Atlantic Airlines (United Kingdom) (Coventry) parent, West Atlantic AB, has welcomed Air Transport Services Group, Inc. as a new 25% shareholder. The agreement is expected to close on January 2, 2014. ATSG says the liquid value of the equity interest is "significantly less than ATSG’s historical cost to purchase and modify a single B767 aircraft and anticipates strong returns on the investment". West Atlantic AB, through Atlantic Airlines and West Air Sweden AB, operates a portfolio of 40 aircraft, and is Europe’s largest regional cargo aircraft operator. It offers integrated ground-to-air logistics for the mail industry in the five to 20 tonne segment, utilizing its fleet of BAe ATPs, CRJ200-PFs, and B737 aircraft. In addition, Atlantic Airlines is currently in the process of adding a B767 to its operations. Air Transport Services Group owns ABX Air (GB, Wilmington Air Park), ATI - Air Transport International (8C, Wilmington Air Park) and lessor Cargo Aircraft Management.
