Aircalin (SB, Nouméa La Tontouta) has signed an agreement with the International Lease Finance Corporation (ILFC), for the lease of a used Airbus A320-200. The aircraft will support the airline’s efforts to meet growing demand for air travel in the region. Equipped with IAE V2500 motors, the aircraft is scheduled for delivery in the middle of 2014 and will mark the addition of the second Airbus A320 to the airline’s fleet. It will operate on Aircalin’s regional network, which connects its Nouméa La Tontouta base in New Caledonia with Auckland International, Brisbane International, Nadi, Osaka Kansai, Papeete, Port Vila, Seoul Incheon, Sydney Kingsford Smith, Tokyo Narita and Wallis. Melbourne Airport is one destination likely to be added as part of the expansion.
