Nok Air (DD, Bangkok Don Mueang) has committed to Boeing (BOE, Washington National) for eight B737-800s and seven B737 MAX 8s at the Singapore Airshow 2014. Once firmed, the deal will be worth USD1.45billion at list prices, and will establish Nok Air as the first Thai airline to operate the B737 MAX. Nok Air operates fourteen B737-800s and two ATR72-500s. In another announcement at the Airshow, Nok Air also confirmed options for another two DHC-8-400s with Bombardier. It had already placed a firm order for two Q400s last November with the first aircraft expected to be delivered in July. According to CEO Patee Sarasin, Nok is considering to confirm two more of its remaining four options later in the year.
