Garuda Indonesia (GA, Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta) recently launched the first scheduled services to the East Javan towns of Banyuwangi and Jember. ch-aviation schedule data shows the national carrier now offers flights from the two towns to Surabaya. In addition, Banyuwangi also sees a daily ATR72 service to Denpasar.

Banyuwangi saw its runway 08/26 upgraded in 2012 in a bid to lure larger commercial flights to the region, For its part, Jember recently underwent a much needed infrastructural upgrade both to its terminal and runway as it attempts to lure back commercial traffic which ceased in 2008 owing to low demand.
