Air Andorra (Montferrer) will commence scheduled operations in November using an ATR42 for initial double daily services between Barcelona El Prat and Murcia San Javier. The carrier is planning to serve Montferrer La Seu d'Urgell, located in Spain 11kms from the Andorran border, set to re-open to commercial and business traffic later this year.
By year-end, the company also plans to acquire an ATR72 for planned Madrid Barajas to Girona flights.
According to the Spanish travel media, Air Andorra is backed by a group of aviation experts and entrepreneurs with experience in the setting up of airlines in countries such as Spain, Brazil, Panama and Colombia.
