Direktflyg (Borlänge/Falun) has terminated a wet-lease contract with Avies (Tallinn Lennart Meri) citing the latter's poor on-time performance. The Swedish carrier had subcontracted Jetstream 32s from the Estonian airline to operate its Östersund to Umeå and Sundsvall-Härnösand to Luleå routes, the latter of which has now been indefinitely suspended.
The move is the latest in a series of bad publicity events for the Estonians, who are already facing strong criticism from Swedish unions over their maintenance practices.
