Belgorod Air Enterprise (Belgorod) is to be succeeded by a new carrier backed by Belgorod airport operator, JSC "Belgorod Air Enterprise". Russia's Interfax news agency says management has already begun market studies with preliminary results pointing to a fleet of three CRJ200s. A March 2015 launch date is under consideration but has yet to be finalized.
Prior to liquidation in 2005, Belgorod Air Enterprise operated chartered and scheduled passenger services throughout central Russia using a fleet of six Yak-42s. Majority owner, the Belgorod region of the Russian Fund for Federal Property, has announced plans to sell 23% of the carrier's shares in a bid to help resuscitate its operations.
