Myanmar National Airlines (UB, Yangon) took delivery of its first B737-800, XY-ALB (msn 43405), on Saturday, June 13. The twinjet is one of six the Myanma national carrier is leasing from GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS) with an additional four B737 MAX 8s due to arrive sometime after 2017.

The carrier also operates one ATR42-300, three ATR72s, two E190s, and one Fokker 28-4000C on flights throughout Myanmar. GECAS' AviaSolutions unit has been working with Myanmar National Airways' senior management to develop an international expansion strategy which will pivot on the newly delivered Boeing (BOE, Washington National) jets.
