Citilink (QG, Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta) has added its maiden Boeing (BOE, Washington National) equipment to its all-Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) fleet following the recent arrival of PK-GGE (msn 28729), a B737-500 formerly in service with parent Garuda Indonesia (GA, Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta).
As previously reported, the aircraft is part of a quartet of machines including two other B737-500s - PK-GGC (msn 28727) and PK-GGD (msn 28728) - and one B737-300 - PK-GGG (msn 28731) that are being transferred to the budget carrier's AOC from parent Garuda.
The move comes two weeks ahead of a September 30 deadline for all Indonesian commercial operators to adhere to local laws which require them to operate a fleet of at least ten aircraft, five of which must be owned. While Citilink operates thirty-five A320-200s, they are all leased.
