UK tour operators Thomas Cook and Thomson have cancelled all upcoming summer holidays to Tunisia following continued unrest in the troubled North African country.
Last week, Thomson Airways (London Luton) cancelled all "further outbound flights" to Tunisia until October 31 with Thomas Cook Airlines UK (Manchester) following suit shortly after. The firms have recently been reviewing their respective operations to Tunisia in the wake of continued political instability and as well as Islamic Stated-sponsored attacks on the Bardo Museum and Sousse last year.
As it currently stands, Tunisia has been placed under a state of emergency until the middle of February at the earliest following a wave of nation-wide protests against unemployment and rising poverty.
