Cobalt (Larnaca) took delivery of its maiden aircraft, ex-Avion Express (X9, Vilnius) A320-200 cn 558, last week as part of its drive to complete its AOC certification with the Cypriot Department of Civil Aviation (DCA).
Chairman Gregory Diakou told reporters at a press conference last week that Cobalt plans to commence revenue operations on June 1 with scheduled passenger flights from its Larnaca hub to London, Paris, Manchester, Nottingham East Midlands, Glasgow International, Cardiff, Dublin International, Beirut, Tel Aviv Ben Gurion, Tehran Imam Khomeini, Athens, Thessaloniki, Irakleion, and Chania.
Additional destinations will be announced in October this year though by next year, the LCC hopes to add A330 machinery for the launch of longhaul flights to China, India, South Africa, and North America.
