Transpaís Aéreo (TPM, Monterrey Mariano Escobedo) has applied to the US Department of Transportation (DOT) for exemption authority to operate on-demand passenger charter flights from various points in Mexico to the United States for a two-year term.
The Mexican air taxi operator has further requested stopover privileges and relief from providing prior notice of each flight. In its filing, the airline said, “The notice requirement serves no specific regulatory purpose for commercial operators of small, business-type aircraft. It burdens the Department, as the regulating agency, and air taxi operators, as the party being regulated”.
Transpais Aéreo plans on maintaining services to the US with three E500s and one Piper (twin piston).
