Compass Airlines (United States of America) (Minneapolis St. Paul International) has announced plans to open a new crew base at Phoenix Sky Harbor where it already has a key maintenance facility.
In a memo to employees earlier this month, the Minnesota-based capacity provider's Chief Operating Officer (COO), Bob Gleason, said the Arizona base would relieve pressure on existing facilities at Los Angeles International and Seattle Tacoma International.
"After studying several locations, it has been determined that it would be most beneficial to have a crew base in PHX," he said. "We have secured space in the Delta Air Lines terminal, with the expectation that the base will open before the end of the year."
Compass Airlines currently connects Phoenix with Los Angeles International, Seattle Tacoma International, and Salt Lake City for Delta under its Delta Connection brand.
