Aerosvit Airlines (Kyiv Boryspil) has wet-leased an An-148-100 from Antonov Design Bureau (Kiev Gostomel) and is currently using the aircraft on its Kiev Borispol-Kharkov route. It is the first aircraft of the type to enter scheduled operations. At the same time, Aerosvit has also signed a memorandum of understanding with Antonov to order 10 An-148-100s with deliveries scheduled over the course of the next three years. The aircraft carriers up to 70 passengers and is expected to go into mass production shortly. Aerosvit will also lease another ex-Estonian Air (OV/Tallinn) B737-500. Aerosvit has put its code on the daily Motor Sich Airlines (M9/Zaporozhye) An-140 service between Kiev Borispol and Zaporozhye. It has however given up its routes from Kiev Borispol to Budapest and Cairo and temporarily suspended its Kiev Borispol-Shanghai Pu Dong route until October 30. Aerosvit has moved its Odessa-Moscow route from Domodedovo to Sheremetyevo on June 1. It currently operates five weekly B737-500 services on the route. Aerosvit has launched twice weekly B737-400 service from Kiev Borispol to Astana on April 25.
