Rossair Charter (Adelaide International) has entered into voluntary administration citing several significant, external challenges including the lingering effects of a crash of one of its Cessna (twin turboprop) 441 Conquest IIs near Renmark, South Australia, in May last year.

"After more than 12 months faced with extreme adversities stemming from the tragic Rossair airline accident in the South Australian Riverland, the businesses of AE Charter Pty Ltd (including Rossair Charter Pty Ltd) have appointed Voluntary Administrators," the company said in a statement issued on Wednesday, July 4.

Although flight operations have been suspended, the firm's Adelaide office will remain open where directors will work with the administrators as they seek to put the business on a sustainable footing for the future.

"The AE Charter Board and management team will assist the administrators where possible to investigate and pursue strategies to retain value for all stakeholders.”

Established in 1963, Rossair currently operates a fleet of Cessna (twin turboprop) 441s, Beech 1900Cs and Ds, and E120s on passenger charter flights in support of Australia's oil, gas and mining industries.
