Chapman Freeborn, an aircraft charter broker owned by Avia Solutions Group, has acquired Arcus Air Group's cargo business with immediate effect.

The transaction, whose value was not disclosed, covers two separate business units, Arcus Air Logistics and Arcus Air On-Board Courier. Arcus Air Group, through its German cargo specialist Arcus Air (AZE, Mannheim), will continue to operate two Do228-212s on behalf of the new owner.

"Arcus Air will, in future, concentrate on the airline and executive aviation sectors," Managing Director Alejandro Tapia Haarmann said.

With representative offices in Germany, Spain and Slovakia, Arcus Air Logistics will continue to trade under its current name while Francisco Mühlens will continue to act as Managing Director. The company primarily offers its services to the automotive industry.

Besides operating the two Dornier turboprops on behalf of Chapman Freeborn, Arcus Air Group will continue to provide business charter services through its Swiss virtual carrier unit Arcus Executive Aviation (Zurich), using seven E500s.
